A long time ago, in my Home Economics class, my first project was an apron! I wish I saved that apron; it would be a vintage piece now. To make a long story short, I had kids, went to work in the oil fields for 29 years, and am now retired.

I had this wonderful idea about making aprons for Christmas presents. A friend of mine jumped on that, bought me my first pattern and some material. I made my second apron for a family reunion. My Aunt Lorraine, who is a designer and has a fashion line out, was very impressed with my apron and said "You have something there!" My response was "Auntie, it's just an apron!" ...hence the name, "Not just Aprons."

After my first boutique, multiple art shows, and a shop on Etsy, my one-year anniversary making Not Just Aprons was in January 2012.

It takes me an estimated 40 hours to make one apron and perfect the intricate details and buttons etc. I personally believe that if I'm going to spend 40 hours on an apron, I want the person that is getting the apron to really appreciate it and for it to mean something really special to them. I hope my aprons can bring back a memory of a loved one or start new memories!

Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to working with you!
